Rajkummar Rao's Toaster Movie At No1-On-Netflix_OTT

Toaster movie on Netflix OTT has just dropped and it's already ranked No 1 across India. Released on April 15, the dark comedy stars Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles, with solid support from Archana Puran Singh, Abhishek Banerjee and others. Directed by Vivek Daschaudhary, the film follows a simple middle-class couple whose extreme kanjoosi and a broken toaster spiral into some weird, crime-tinged situations full of absurd twists.

Rajkummar Rao brings his usual energetic comic timing, while Sanya Malhotra holds her own with natural charm. The idea of turning everyday miserly behaviour into a quirky story sounded fresh to many, and the first half does manage a few light laughs. But as per early reactions on X, the second half feels a bit stretched, with some jokes missing the mark and the overall pace dipping.

Viewers in India are divided right now. A few are calling it a decent one-time watch for its offbeat humour and neo-noir feel, especially if you like situational comedy. Others say it doesn't fully click despite the talented cast.
