Drishyam 3 Telugu version has run into a legal hurdle for its OTT release.
The Madras High Court has issued an interim injunction that stops the makers from releasing the Telugu dubbed version on any streaming platform worldwide.
Rajkumar Theatre Pvt. Ltd. approached the court claiming they hold exclusive rights for Telugu remake and exploitation of the Drishyam franchise. They argued that streaming the dubbed version would affect their rights. The court has put the release on hold until the case is resolved.
The Malayalam original starring Mohanlal has already been doing well, but Telugu audiences who were waiting for the dubbed version on OTT will have to wait longer.
This development has created uncertainty around the Telugu OTT release of Drishyam 3. No new date has been announced yet.
